Background Contest

To be honest im not sure why shaders aren't allowed. This is not a contest for an ad campaign, this is for a nice looking background not for a close to normal background. How many posters do you see of photoshopped women vs women not photshopped, almost every good looking picture that has a huge WOW factor is photoshopped in some way. But thats just my opinion, Shaders LOOK better and i would like a better looking background than a normal one

Thing is, the background is advertising. When you go to a website about DaVinci you don't want to see Picasso staring you in the face, so why would you promise something different than what we are offering?

Being honest who is coming to the website before playing the server? 95% of players are server first, and ontop of the few who come on the website, who is actually like Hmm, i wanna join cuz their background looks normal

Here ya go. I kinda had some trouble capturing my screen for the second picture so the quality is a bit terrible. If someone can tell me how to do it better I will be happy to.

Not everyone who plays minecraft understands what shaders are or how to get them. To them it could like a whole different game or something that is required to play on the server. While shaders do make screenshots look nice, we still want a vanilla feel.

Instead of the normal contest, this one is for a background for the website/forums. The image MUST be of very high resolution (1980x1060) to accomodate monitors/resolutions of all sizes.

If you think you have a winner, you can test using Google Chrome. While on the MyMinecraft.com website, hit F12. This will bring up the developer console. On the right hand side, you'll see a url('') with the location of the current image. simply click on url, and then it will allow you to change the url. Upload your pic to imgur and paste the address in there and instantly the background will change to yours. This is how you would test it to know if your image is good or not.

I have two pictures i want to post. They look absolutely awesome equally on the site.

But i have no idea how to change the size. I am no good with this crap, so, a little help will be appreciated.

The size is: 1,280x800 pixels.

I really need some help though.

you can try in a photo editor, but that will make it grainy. Laptops unfortunately have low resolution and there isnt much way around that.
